Just Around the Corner

A simple image; a simple edit.

A tribute to the golden light of an early autumn morning. And to wondrous architectural details, hidden just around the corner.

I have noticed this spiral many times in my downtown wanderings. But for some mysterious reason, this particular framing, in this particular light, became something more.

Surprising simplicity.

Texture Tuesday Processing (Photoshop CC)

  • Process my Midtone Contrast action to bring out the textures
  • Add the Mary texture, blend mode = Linear Burn
  • Add a Levels Adjustment to increase overall contrast, especially in the highlights

Below is the original image (after RAW adjustments and perspective distortion corrections) and the Photoshop layers palette:

  1. Good morning!

What an amazing find. I love that each corner has different elements in detail and texture. Outstanding processing as well and the golden tones and brick and mortar consistency ages the piece quite nicely. One of these days I will understand the Photoshop jargon. :o)

    Have a wonderful day!

  2. Great architectural shot and I love the beautiful warm tones your pp has brought out.

  3. Golden light, a spiral, and beautiful lines — what could be more perfect? A wonderful image, which deserves a 10!
