Third Thursday Challenge Wrap-up: March

At the Base

“Playing it safe
is the riskiest choice
we can ever make.”

Sarah Ban Breathnach

It’s time to wrap-up another edition of the Third Thursday Challenge. The link will be open through the end of the day so you still have time to join in.

What a great month – filled with inspirational ideas for stepping outside your comfort zone. From technical focusing to storytelling diptychs to joining a gym – you have made this monthly feature so much more than I ever envisioned through your enthusiastic participation. Thank you.

I leave you with an image, layered with several of my new digitally-created textures – including the concrete texture, available for download here. I hope it will inspire you to play in your own post-processing sandbox. And if post-processing isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other ideas to whet your appetite for experimentation – simply check out what the other TTC participants have been up to.

Don’t forget to mark your calendar for April 18 when we will return for another round of exploration and challenge. In the meantime: don’t play it safe.

  1. The textures add beautiful soft colors to the excellent graphic lines of your image.

    • Anita – thanks! It was fun playing around with my newly-created textures – testing out what I could do with them. I liked the color change that occurred – giving it an almost-surreal glow.

  2. Love the soft colors of your beautiful texture! Thanks for making it available! Each month I’m amazed at the variety of “new” things that have been explored! Thank you for hosting this great link-up!!

    • Cathy – I was thrilled to have the texture actually “work” on something 🙂 And I am the one benefiting from this link-up – it is so inspiring to see what challenges everyone takes on.

  3. What fun to create your own textures — the results here are lovely! I do get inspired by seeing what the other participants are sharing in TTC. Thanks for hosting and encouraging us to take those risks!

    • Gina – it was fun – it didn’t always result in something useable, but it was still fun! It has been nothing but a pleasure to be the TTC host. I am amazed each month by the creativity and daring of the participants.

I greatly appreciate your comments!
