Party of One

Texture Tuesday Theme: Story

Out back, the wrought-iron table and chair sit patiently. Frosted with snow, metal icy to the touch, they wait.

A table for one. A tale of solitude; of quiet moments in contemplation.

She surveys the scene – the chair, the table, the window. All thoughtfully arranged as if props on a stage.

Extending an open invitation:  come sit, be still, slow down. Alone but not lonely.

She smiles. Grateful to be here; to play her role in this story. Both observer and participant.

To enjoy this tableau and make it her own.

A party of one.

  3. What a wonderful story!!! And – I love the conversion to black and white. Makes the whole scene and story timeless!

  4. Beautifully composed and processed! Your words though…they, with the image, magical. You transported me.

  5. This photo looked so natural and right in black and white that I was shocked to scroll down and discover the original in color. I love the image and the story it tells, and the way it became *your* story.

  6. I love this image, Brenda! The lines, the composition, the story. Well done!

  7. Ahhh, Brenda, we are discussing lines in Photo By Design this week and the photographer I am highlighting today is you. Thank you for posting the perfect image, along with your contemplative prose.

    lisa.

  9. Just one word…WOW!!!

  10. Great post, love how you’ve processed this photo, it looks perfect in B&W, fits so beautifully with your words.

  11. Brenda, you know I enjoy your photos, but I must say that I find myself looking forward to your verbal vignettes almost as much as I do your images. You are spare with words, but even in just a few words you manage to convey imagination and creativity that at least equals what you’ve done photographically. Well done!

  12. i love your image and your story. Bravo on a job well done.

  13. Brenda, I love this. The lines and shapes. The composition. And, I love that you took it black and white. And, it’s everything together..all that the photograph is combined with your elegant and soulful writing..all of it together is just magic.

  14. Every picture tells a story. Yours flows beautifully, Brenda! Nicely done!

  15. Very good photo.

    Regards and best wishes
